JOSEPH RITSON - Robin Hood: A Collection of all the Ancient Poems, Songs, and Ballads, now extant, relative to that celebrated English Outlaw: To which are prefixed Historical Anecdotes of his Life. by Joseph Ritson (editor). This very scarce book was published in L$_57 (5)ondon (Ludgate Hill) for Longman, Hurst, Rees, Orme and Brown in 1820 and is the second edition (first 1795) with the original two volumes now condensed into one for the benefit of younger readers. The book is bound in full tan calf and has been professionally rebound at some stage using the original boards and spine. The spine has five raised panels with a gilt harp decoration within, its red morocco label is a little chipped at edges.
