ARTHUR BOWEN DAVIES (1862-1928). - Arthur Bowen Davies was one of the most influential and respected of the early avante garde painters working at the turn of the last Century. His work is held in numerous national collections.

The painting shows a romantic landscape typical of Bowen-Davies style and dates to ca1890-1900 an earlier and very rare piece. The painting is signed at the bottom right and is guaranteed authentic and a Provenance is available with the purchase.

CONDITION: This painting, which measures 48" x 24" is painted on canvas and is on its original stretcher. It has had some light restoration, including a small patched hole measuring .75" x .75" though the canvas is generally in a very sound condition. The painting is in need of some attention and could do with a good restorers love, though given its rarity is very well worth the investment. Hopefully this painting will end up in the hands of a National institution or in the hands of a knowledgeable art collector who is willing to put in the effo
